Broccoli Paneer Stuffed Paratha – Healthy Lunchbox Recipe for Kids

A simple, nutritious paratha packed with protein, fibre, and flavour — perfect for busy school mornings.

If you’re looking for a lunchbox option that’s healthy, filling and actually gets eaten, this Broccoli Paneer Stuffed Paratha is a winner. It’s soft, flavourful, and stays fresh till lunchtime — making it ideal for packing in your child’s Baboons lunchbox.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup wheat flour (for dough)

  • 1 cup broccoli, microwaved and mashed

  • ½ cup grated paneer

  • Salt to taste

  • ½ tsp pepper powder

  • ½ tsp garlic powder

  • ¼ tsp chilli flakes

  • 1 tbsp parmesan cheese (optional but adds flavour)

  • Ghee for cooking

Method

  1. Make the dough:
Mix wheat flour with water to form a soft dough. Cover and rest it for 10 minutes.

  2. Prepare the broccoli:
Add a little water to the broccoli and microwave for 5–6 minutes.
Allow it to cool completely, then mash it smoothly.

  3. Make the filling:
In a bowl, combine mashed broccoli, grated paneer, salt, pepper, garlic powder, chilli flakes and grated parmesan cheese.

  4. Fill and roll:
Roll out a small chapathi, place the broccoli–paneer filling in the centre, bring the edges together to seal, and gently roll again.

  5. Cook:
Heat a pan, cook the paratha until golden on both sides and apply a little ghee on both sides after cooking.

Lunchbox Tip

Let the broccoli cool down and make sure it's completely dry without moisture content before mashing. This prevents extra moisture and keeps the paratha soft but not soggy — perfect for a lunchbox.

Serving Suggestions

  • Pair with homemade curd, mint chutney, or ketchup for little ones.

  • Pack with a side of cut fruits or cucumber sticks for a balanced lunchbox.

  • Cut the paratha into fun shapes using cookie cutters for fussy eaters.

Storage & Reheating

  • Store leftover dough and filling separately in airtight containers in the fridge for up to 2 days.

  • Cooked parathas can be refrigerated for 24 hours.

  • Reheat on a tawa for 1–2 minutes — they soften beautifully.
