Lunch Box FAQ
IS THE LUNCH BOX LEAKPROOF?
Our Bento lunch boxes are leakproof for wet foods like dips, yogurts, curries, gravies, chutneys and thick sauces. However, they're not leakproof for thin liquids such as salad dressings, rasam, buttermilk, soup, or thin sauces. We recommend using our snack containers set (sold separately) for thin liquids.
ARE THE LUNCH BOXES DISHWASHER SAFE?
Yes, all our lunch boxes are dishwasher safe. Wipe off any excess moisture from both the inside and outside of the lunch box after the dishwasher cycle ends. Make sure both the lunch box and removable silicone seal are completely dry before reinserting them.
HOW DO I REPLACE THE SEAL ON MY BENTO STAINLESS STEEL LUNCH BOXES AFTER WASHING?
Lift out the seal, hand wash it, and allow it to dry. Press around all the edges to put the seal back into your lunch box, as shown in this short video.
HOW SHOULD I STORE MY LUNCH BOX?
Ensure both the lunchbox and silicone seal are completely dry before storing them with the lid closed.
CAN I PRE-PACK THE LUNCH BOX THE NIGHT BEFORE?
Absolutely! Our Bento lunch boxes are airtight, allowing you to pack them the night before and store them in the fridge until morning.
DO YOU OFFER REPLACEMENT PARTS OR ADDITIONAL LUNCH BOX PARTS?
Yes, we offer removable silicone seals & replacement latches to add more variety to your lunch box. If you're unsure about which style of latch you have, please contact our support team.
HOW CAN I LABEL MY CHILD'S LUNCH BOX?
We recommend using vinyl stickers, which you can easily find online.
IS THERE A WARRANTY FOR THE LUNCH BOXES?
Unfortunately, we do not offer a product warranty as we are a small business just starting out. While we make every effort to ensure the quality of our products, with inspection teams on the ground at our manufacturing plant and by checking your items before they are sent, occasionally things might fall through the cracks. Should you believe your product is faulty, please contact us via the contact form here within 7 days of receiving your order. Please note that any items missing from your order or defects need to be brought to our attention within 7 days of receiving your goods. All goods returned as faulty products for assessment must be clean and dry – items returned wet, dirty, or otherwise unhygienic will not be processed.
Proof of purchase (dated receipt) is required for all faulty product claims. You are also entitled to choose a refund or replacement for major failures with goods.
However, please note that wear and tear or damage caused by dropping the product will naturally cause dents and scratches, and the patterns on the bottles can scuff when they come into contact with hard surfaces. Silicone is prone to absorbing food stains, especially from the juices of fruits or vegetables like carrot sticks, watermelon, strawberries, tomatoes, rock melon, added food coloring, turmeric, and other spices. While it is inevitable that these stains will form on silicone products, you can minimize or sometimes even remove the stains by soaking them in a paste made by mixing dishwashing liquid and baking soda. Apply the paste to the stained area, let it soak for half an hour, and then either pop it in the dishwasher or scrub gently with a non-abrasive scrubber, then rinse with warm water if you prefer handwashing.
This is all considered part of the normal wear and tear of our products, and refunds will not be issued.
CAN I PUT THE LUNCH BOXES IN THE MICROWAVE OR FREEZER?
No, our lunch boxes are not designed to be used in the microwave or freezer.
HOW DO I CLEAN THE LUNCH BOX?
Our lunch boxes are safe to clean in the dishwasher up to 70°C. It is highly important to remove the silicone seal and place it separately in the dishwasher. If you prefer hand washing, remove the silicone seal from the lunch box and wash it with fragrance-free dishwashing liquid to avoid the detergent smell getting into the silicone seal. Make sure both the lunch box and removable silicone seal are completely dry before reinserting and storing them.
HOW CAN I KEEP MY FOOD HOT OR COLD IN THE BENTO LUNCHBOX?
Our stainless-steel Bento Five and Bento Two lunchboxes are not insulated but are crafted from high grade SS304 stainless steel. Because of this, it’s impossible to add insulation as it would make the bento too heavy for a child to carry. However, we designed our premium, durable insulated lunch bags to keep lunch warm and fresh for longer. They are designed to fit both our Bento Five and Bento Two lunchboxes comfortably, with enough room for extra whole fruit, cutlery, and a napkin.
ARE YOUR PRODUCTS BPA-FREE?
Yes, all our products are made of durable, hard-wearing BPA-free, food-safe materials.
